@plumbingdoctors: Replying to @AM The reason most tradesmen in the UK would rather replace parts than repair them comes down to labour cost 💷 When you factor in time on site, stripping something down, cleaning it 🧼, rebuilding it, and then risking it still not working properly or leaking later on 🚿 — replacement is often more cost-effective 🔧 In many cases, it’s cheaper to swap the part than spend hours trying to save it ⏱️ That’s just the reality of working in the UK 🇬🇧 That said, I’m all for repairing where it makes sense 💪 If it won’t take long, I’ll strip it down, clean it out, and put it right — and I do believe that makes you a better engineer 🧠🔧 But sometimes, repairing isn’t the smartest option ⚖️ On the flip side, in places like Kashmir and Pakistan, almost nothing gets thrown away 🌍 Everything is repaired because labour rates are low and the cost of living is very different — so over there, repairing is far more cost-effective than replacing 🔄 Different countries, different economics, different approaches 👌 #Plumber #GasEngineer #HeatingEngineer #PlumbingLife #TradeTalk
