I never believed in Santa and I genuinely believe that is why I still love Christmas more than my friends and family. I never had the rug pulled out from under me so I always used my imagination and accepted he was just an idea.

When my youngest asked if Santa was real (don’t remember his age) I told him No. He took it well. But then he asked about the Elf. When I said the elf wasn’t real, I thought he was gonna lose his mind 😭

In hs psych that was one of things that was brought up. Santa is one of the first lies your children remember. Do you want to start your relationship with your child knowing that they can’t trust you?

I had a little boy in my class who told us. My dad was the same. I asked him also, bc I knew he wouldn’t ever lie to me. He told me the truth. It was like, ok, well, ok- there goes that 😂
