except for when it's part of the story and they immediately go live and have millions of viewers with zero reception issues and it goes viral within minutes

The “flashbacks” in knives out via pressing play on video recording was great

Disagree. Movies don’t always have to reflect reality. Characters in movies never sneeze/cough for no reason even though it happens in real life. If they did that in movies, it would feel awkward and clunky

Abner's Take :
My favourite is in horror movies where right away they have to address "there's no signal out here" or whatever.

An overemphasis on realism stifles creativity and detracts from films primary goal of entertainment and artistic vision.

In Gen V there’s a scene where the main group sneaks into a building and knock out all the guards. Then they get caught almost instantly by the villain who says “We live in a world of cameras” and that’s stuck in my head for a while

I hate when people act like a film needs to take place in a carbon copy of our worlds rules

The inclusion of phones and filming instantly will change the merits and rhetoric of said story. Suddenly a movie about the nature of crime will become a commentary on social media’s influence on crime

no i prefer for movies to not show that part of life genuinely like this is escapism i don’t need to be reminded that the world willingly signed up to be a surveillance state

Mobile phones are why I would prefer for most movies to be set in the late 90’s to early 2000’s.

Only time a phone is brought out in films and shows is when someone is getting arrested or police brutality

Fr. Recent new movie I watched had me thinking “genuinely why does this inside man not just leak all the horrible shit the military is doing to the general public?” Like sure it won’t do any MAJOR damage but it gets at least a portion of the public against the military.

Tbf I thought it was hilarious at the idea that Cyrus’s mic would be able to pick up jud threatening Wicks, doesn’t ruin anything but that video should’ve been just the sounds of air in the trees
