I worked with a nurse who traded a car in for a new vehicle. A few weeks later the dealership towed the car from the hospital parking lot. They had given her too much for the trade in and thought they had the right to take her new car when they found out. They landed in a lot of legal trouble for grand theft auto.

This is actually not true at all my finance company Community First credit Union. repossessed my car for me being 30 days late I made that said payment on Friday they recovered the vehicle the following Monday requesting the entire loan amount to recover the vehicle .

If the lending company is saying you have to pay the full outstanding balance, that account is charged off. That means no payments for more than 120 days.

we had a old I mean OLD old mustang. like been paid off and didn't run anymore. there had been several cars stolen in our area. so one tried to hook a truck up to it and pull it away. the cops tried to tell me it was a repo company. I said "so yall know who this is and are covering for them" old boy back tracked to hard and started investigating. that car was so old like no way I HELL it could ever get a loan

This happened to me. 🤬 The cops took my car saying it was reported stolen. I had to pay to get my own car back and then fight for my money back too!

there was probably some breach of contract it sound like. For example some lenders don’t want customers putting vehicles on turo or doing gig/rideshare jobs. And if they, by some means, find out its happening they reposess the collateral

As someone who works in this area, none of this story is plausible. They have broken the contract in some way shape or form. Companies just can't go around repoing units for no reason.

This happened to me with the 2008 G6. Bought it brand new paid on it on time every month for a whole year. Made extra principal payments every single month. And then the car got repoed . I had to pay 21 Grand to get it back. I then sued the loan company and got $9000 back. They’ve been doing this to all of their people and reselling the cars.
