I’m Japanese, and I’ve never heard of sushi rice being cooked with pork broth. Most Japanese people aren’t fluent in English, so maybe there was a misunderstanding or you misheard what they said. Also, if you’re visiting Japan, I think it’s important to respect our culture and customs. If someone has specific dietary restrictions, they should do some research and make appropriate preparations before coming, rather than expecting everything to be changed to suit them. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
