All countries are "authoritarian" the question is who is it authoritarian against? Capitalism is Authoritarian towards the working class, Socialism is authoritarian towards the ruling class. That's why China's billionaires get sentenced to death, and why America's billionaires get sentenced to tax breaks.

Don't even try, they're not going to understand it. I've been trying for years to explain that the CCP is not a traditional party like the ones we have in the west and I failed. In the west people want a simple answer and everything that goes out of that is wrong for them.

Really appreciate you working to try to clarify. The West has been so indoctrinated with negative propoganda against China. China's success is at the core of the reason why Western Governments fear China. They do not want us to see that there is a better, more sustainable way to govern. The leadership in China's main goal is to serve the population and provide people with a better life and opportunities. They figured out when you invest PROPERLY in people, healthcare, education and infrastructure, you advance your society. Capitalism, on its own, is a destructive, unnatural system.

it's an authoritarian dictatorship. Xi has pushed himself to be leader for life and party members are purged under corruption drives on a regular basis and promotion had more to do with guanxi than competancy
