S4turn the Hex Maniac :
Christmas hasn't quite felt right for years until today. Before my father was murdered Christmas always felt like a real celebration there was always something under the tree for me, and always so much from my extended family, and the joy that came around every year as we spent time together, ate, watched movies, and all the works was truly the best time of my life. Then, almost exactly a month after my 10th birthday, I was laying on a mattress on the floor on a Saturday night, laying right next to my dad, he took his phone from me and plugged it in to charge, then I just fell asleep, I woke up pretty late and my grandma made me waffles for breakfast. But my dad was gone. I wondered where he was but didn't think much of it, he was a construction worker, and he was always out doing side gigs so I was used to waking up and having to wait for him to get home. Some hours pass and eventually a knock at the door comes, my grandma opens it and it's from police, my grandma tells me to go into her room to watch TV there, and so of course I do, but almost as soon as I go in, I hear a yelp from the living, and I slowly sneak out to see my grandma crying... younger me thought my father just got arrested. It wasn't his first time, it was often a mistake since he was a construction worker he very often drove with his gear still on him, which consisted of a lot of dirty things, like hammers, box cutters, ect, plus it didn't help that he had tattoos all up his arms; as such if he got pulled over he would occasionally be detained for like a day or two while they settle his case. Anyway, after that I went back to the room and a few days go by and my dad still hasn't been home. I asked my grandma where he was and she made up some lie that I can't even remember, but time passed and I grew more curious, so I kept asking and eventually she had to tell me. My father was murdered at nearly 2am on a Sunday. I was 10. Barely old enough to have developed meaningful memories with him. And before I knew it my life had completely changed. In what felt like a blink of an eye, no one really smiled anymore. We became flat broke. And so, so many other things. All it took was 1 night and 1 knife.
