DO NOT TAKE THE JEWLERY OUT. It can trap the infection. Do your best to clean with sterile saline (Neil med) until you can go to an actual piercing studio after the holidays.

They really need to ban piercing guns. I did two of my piercings myself with a paper clip that healed perfect and can go MONTHS without earrings in. My one professional piercing hurts often, gets red and closes quick

Butterfly backs make the healing process take longer switching it out for a flat back would really help and one thing that helped me a lot is keeping my hair up and off the piercing and also spraying it with saline and letting it airdry it made the swelling go down completely with in like a week
