@therightwinguncut: 🚨 NEW: Minnesota whistleblowers are now coming forward, telling the House that Tim Walz and AG Ellison were told YEARS AGO the fraud was bad
In 2025,
Minnesota is at the center of several major federal fraud investigations involving state-run programs, with a significant number of defendants identified as members of the Somali diaspora. As of December 2025, over 80 individuals have been charged and approximately 60 convicted in schemes that prosecutors estimate have cost taxpayers over $1 billion.
Major Fraud Schemes
Feeding Our Future: The largest pandemic-era fraud in the U.S., where individuals allegedly stole at least $300 million (originally estimated at $250 million) intended for federal child nutrition programs. Defendants fabricated meal sites and attendance records for tens of thousands of non-existent children.
Autism Services Fraud: In September 2025, federal charges were filed in a scheme targeting Minnesota’s Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) program. One defendant alone is accused of a $14 million fraud, recruiting Somali children for non-existent therapy services.
Housing Stabilization Services: In late 2025, prosecutors charged multiple "fraud tourists" who traveled to Minnesota to exploit the state’s Housing Stabilization Services program. These schemes involved billing for services never provided, including "double billing" for the same time blocks.
Medicaid Fraud: Federal investigators have recently suggested that total fraud across 14 Medicaid-funded programs could potentially exceed $9 billion, though official final figures are still being determined as investigations expand.
