Id say 4 day for Beijing is maybe a bit too much, 3 is enough, and you can go one day to xian. Also add furong old town to your zhangjiajie planning

I went back in 2019, in Shanghai (the old town part) there’s this noodle place called Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant. They make the noodles in view of the tables and the steamed buns are amazing. Also a really nice place to walk near it is Yu Garden.

People mostly go to these same places, the ones you see the most online. They are all fine but I would say the best is to pick a province (or two max) and explore this area a bit more slowly and deeply.

Japan is a very beautiful town ! Just I recommend going with someone who speaks mandarin or a very good sim with data !! and also as a black person it is a little bit different from other people are nice but will take loads of pictures of you 😭

For Yangshuo actually u can order a hot air balloon because it can go through all the views of yangshuo like Xianggong mountains and Yulong Rivers. Normally also can see the sunrise or sunset in the sky when flying 😏
