Join @Hamesha Project + @Uproot Teas to craft with local plants and fungi, exploring natural dyes, tie dye techniques, ecoprinting, and edible mushrooms in this 4-week series in the Bay Area. 🍄🌿 Our whimsical month of plants, mushrooms, and fiber artistry will take place in rotating locations in the Bay Area in the month of February. This is the perfect way to welcome winter, gain skills, and craft in community outside. By the end of this 4-week intensive, you will be able to spot familiar natural dyes plants and mushrooms that grow abundantly in the Bay Area and dye to your hearts desire at home. This course is limited to 15 spots only to keep the cohort intimate and personalized to you. Early bird registrations will receive $50 off, until December 25, 2025. Our schedule is as follows (subject to change): February 1: Basics of Natural Dye (3 hours) We will explore 2 local plant dyes, discuss mordanting and creating natural dye bath, iron baths, and baking soda modifiers. By the end of this, you will be able to naturally dye your own clothes at home to upcycle them! February 8: Bandhani & Resist Techniques (3 hours) We will explore Indigo as a dye and focus on traditional South Asian technique of Bandhani to make intricate patterns in our fabrics. February 15: Eco-printing (3 hours) Eco-printing, also known as botanical printing, is a natural dye technique that uses plants or mushrooms to create unique patterns and colors on fabric. We will explore techniques to transfer the plant’s dyes or imprints onto the fabric to create one-of a kind contact prints that capture the plant’s shape and colors. February 22: Mushroom foraging & dyeing (ALL DAY) We will take a class field trip to Point Reyes National Seashore to forage for mushrooms to eat and dye with in the forest. We can coordinate carpooling. Link on our pages for tickets 🎁 #naturaldye #foraging #bayarea #bayareaevents THANK YOU VICKY FOR THIS VIDEO!!!

Lassen Forest :
A Sonoma County resident died this past weekend after consuming wild mushrooms. Statewide, there were 35 cases of wild mushroom poisoning, including three deaths and three liver transplants, between Nov. 18 and Jan. 4. Given that, in an average year, fewer than five cases statewide would normally be expected, Sonoma County interim health officer Dr. Michael Stacey is advising residents not to eat wild mushrooms.
