Mayor u did not hear this from me, u can open the very bottom of the machine with a knife and should be able to stop and restart the cycle without paying anything extra if it gets stuck again. Dont waste ur coins! - Someone who used to live in an austrian student dorm and had these types of coin machines before 😭

this issue would make me get one of those machines you hook up to the sink to wash your clothes. but otherwise, do they have laundromats in your area? at least there you could run multiple loads at the same time then be done with it all at once.

I had the same problem with my toilet when I moved into my flat. If it's what I think it is it's calcification from the water- I tried everything the only thing that worked was poking it with a stick and basically peeling it off. it's gross but easier than you'd think it would be.
