Abosede, 2026. Aunty Abosede, aunty Bose for short, a very beautiful lady, hers weren’t the ones you just saw but the type you felt in your heart. They said he ran to Lagos, and when they heard from him, he said “I didn’t think it would get that serious till the wedding day” Ha! Aunty Bose couldn’t take it, she had a stroke that same day. The right side of her body was paralyzed, they had to move her to the head branch in Omi. I was 7 years old when this happened, fast forward, I’m 18 Aunty Bose is getting married to Uncle Dare, he attended the wedding but didn’t look too happy. I thought “maybe rice and meat nor reach him family” Everybody danced and was happy, Aunty Bose can now rest, since they born am for weekend she never rest. I muted as danced along with the crowd Six months later, I’m back home to take garri and lafun back to school and my mum sighed and said “Pray with us, Uncle Dare is beating Aunty Bose everyday” I asked why she’s still in the marriage, my mum replied “pastor said we should fast and pray God changes his mind” as she tied her gele heading to church for evening prayers for Aunty Bose.
