@sbmowing: This is Sam. I met Sam last fall at Equip Expo. He is 14 years old, and from the moment we started talking, I could tell lawn care wasn’t just a hobby for him, it was his thing! Sam was diagnosed with autism when he was 7, and he told me lawn care has been his passion for as long as he can remember. We stood there for a long time talking about his business back home in Ohio, the equipment he uses, and the lawns he takes care of. He’s also a big fan of my videos — so much so that he started his own YouTube channel called “Sammy’s Lawn Service,” where he records himself mowing and working on lawns.After the expo, I was talking with my friend Victor from Maruyama, and Sam came up in the conversation. He had mentioned that his handheld equipment wasn’t working very well anymore, and that stuck with us. With the launch of my nonprofit, SB Mow It Forward, this felt like exactly what it was meant for. Our mission is simple: to empower future entrepreneurs in the lawn and landscape industry by giving them the tools, guidance, and support they need to grow. So Victor and I worked with Sam’s mom to set up a surprise back in Ohio.When we gave him the equipment, his reaction said everything. And not long after we left, his mom sent us a video of Sam already out there — doing what he loves — putting the new equipment straight to work. #sbmowing #sbmowitforward
