As a former housekeeper check out usually being 11 am it takes 25-45 per room check out to clean, if it’s not totaled. We have any where from 12-25 each day. That’s why check in is when it is.

The average hotel has around 80 rooms. So you think housekeeping can clean that many rooms in 2 hours. Do you want to stay in a room that was cleaned in 10 minutes?

So you leave your luggage with the front desk and go sight seeing or to lunch. I also have planned my trips to get In around check in times so I don’t have to wait.

the reason for the 3pm checkout is consideration for the hotel staff/housekeeping to have time to ensure the room is clean and ready for you to be able to enjoy your stay.

If you like dirty rooms or checking out at 8am, then it's a wonderful idea. I'd love to check in early and leave late too, but not possible.

Most hotels will hold your luggage before you can check in. don't waste the day, have them hold your luggage and explore the city!

Check your bags at the front desk and go by your day you have access to the hotel facilities and you can go have lunch and walk around and sightsee until your room is ready it’s really about using your time constructively.

Well from my experience, 1 i want checkout to be as late as possible. however usually if i show up early, and a room is available they’ll usually let you check in. as not everyone waits til 12 to check out. sometimes they’re up and gone for flights etc. Some hotels, like resorts and casinos usually charge to let you check in early.
