we lost my dad unexectedly in September. i had a dream the other night where I was sitting on a bench outside the gates of heaven waiting for him and he appeared on the other side. he didn't say anything but he looked so sad and defeated. he held his arm out through the bars to reach me like he was trapped and desperate to get out and hold me. i know he wouldn't have wanted this for himself but that dream felt so real and seeing him like that has been haunting me ever since 💔

I will never forget when my dad was on his last breath and I told him I loved him and he just nodded and tears started running down his face. He looked scared but at the same time he looked like he was trying to accept it was time. We really thought he was going to make it and get better and I think he thought so too.

Same. Going through his planner and seeing the rest of his year planned out. And the tear rolling down his cheek when he was passing. My heart actually can’t handle the thought too long.

I didn’t even get the chance to say goodbye to my dad and 4 years later it still eats me alive. He was filled with so much life and love. I miss him every single second of every day.
