I feel like I'm taking crazy pills reading these comments. of course hot water boils faster. boiling is literally adding energy to water until it hits 212 degrees. if the water starts at 120 instead of 60 degrees, it'll require less energy to hit the boiling point, and therefore less time.

It does boil faster but hot tap water can have higher mineral and metal content if it's heated in a tank. A thankless water heater doesn't concentrate the minerals and metals.
