Why are we tipping on the cost of my food order.? Because I want a lobster and steak I owe more money or if I only wanted a salad I owe you less of a tip? Waiter still walks the same distance with a plate, from kitchen to table nothing changes other than the price of my food.

I'm a waitress and I am very attentive and I check on my tables every 3 to 4 min if I am not busy but even when I am busy I still check on my tables as I pass by them...if u have a waiter that doesn't keep up and check on u at all I fully believe that they shouldn't be tipped at all cuz their customer service is terrible and that is unacceptable and unfair to the customer

Every waiters starts off with a great tip the minute they sit me down. The waiter’s service during my dining experience determines whether that tip takes a dive or stays amazing.

Not wrong, I’m in the business. Please go see a manager. You are absolutely correct, tips are voluntary. There’s a bigger issue here than a tip. Bad service is inexcusable. It’s impossible for management to see everything.
