Everything that's gone is gone, which means it's not the right time and it's not yours yet. Everything you need will come at the right time and the right moment. Believe me, I couldn't let go of my ex for a long time. It was hard and I kept hoping that things could still be fixed, but as they say, if a person doesn't find a replacement after a breakup, that person was honest in everything and remains alone. And never compare your ex with your present; this will only make the new relationship worse. The main thing is patience. There are as many opinions as there are people, but only you can decide. But if there's truly no trust, respect, and communication, it won't lead anywhere; it will always be conflict. And you shouldn't let anyone control you. Why would you say you’d be a coward if you walked away and unfollowed him? I know you probably don’t want to hear this, but did you explain to your girlfriend why you follow him? Her response would be something I’d really consider. If she isn’t able to be supportive of your growth and where you want to go in life—especially given that he’s her ex—then it really comes down to maturity on her part. If this person genuinely acts as a mentor or source of inspiration for you, I don’t think you should feel pressured to unfollow him. It feels like her calling him a douche has planted the seed, and now you’re overthinking it. That’s understandable, but it’s a shame, because as you said yourself, the past is the past.
