@caffeinevschaos_fostrmom: In fostercare, sometimes reunification fails. We start over, and the kids are left with more confusion, guilt, big emotions and behaviors, grief, and fear. #fostercare #traumainformed #christmas
Which is why reunification should be a case by case basis not a general thing.

Once you lose your children more than once, that should be it. Being back and forth from foster care to reunification hurts children sm. The damage can’t be reversed

I'm all for reunification but at what point do bio parents lose their shot. Some states give WAY too many chances and it is so not fair to these children when they have foster parents willing and waiting to adopt.

People hate on reunification but my kids were taken because my ex husband tried to murder them while I was at work.. I immediately took action and he went to prison and I made my house safe again for my children to come back because of reunification.

Going through the same thing right now, I had two little ones as toddlers for Christmas 2023 and now I have them again for Christmas in 2025.

Reunification being the goal in EVERY case is so dangerous. My youngest brother was his bio mom’s 9th child to have removed from her, and they still let him go back to her. He came back with so much trauma that he wasn’t able to communicate. We were eventually able to adopt him, as we had already adopted 3 of his siblings, but the trauma that woman gave to her children will be lifelong.

Statistically reunions fails more than it succeeds. It is horrific that the parents’ rights are prioritized over what is best for the child.

I was reunited with my mom, people do change. Not everyone in the foster system got abused. Reunions do happen but they shouldn’t always

Reunification is great if the parents are worthy of having a child. Bio parents are given too many chances, causes so much instability for the child

I was horrified when my case worker told my sisters and me that reunification was the goal. We were put in foster care because our grandpa SAed all of us and our grandma was extremely physically abusive. Thankfully we never went back.

they give kids back to awful parents instead of people that love them. I've seen it first hand. Pray for the babies!

as a foster kid. I only think reunification should happen if an addicted parent gets clean or if it was a case of parent needing resources. actual abuse should never be reunified

Just want to jump in here - one, thank yall for not letting the system burn you. two, thank the case manager / whoever it was that reached out to put them back with someone they may remember. 10 years in as a case manager, and it is so rare. 🩵🩵🩵
