Luckily, jet fuel has a high flash point and is much more difficult to get to ignite because it doesn't give off high amounts of vapor like gasoline does. It requires high temperatures and atomisation (essentially it needs to be a fine mist).

but the MIST FROM THE DROPPING FUEL... well I'm no scientist but mist or vapor, similar to normal fuel fumes.... yes it can ignite & then what? thankfully it was safe ;-)
