@sezzy.brown: Cooking for 12 people (plus a few kiddies) for Christmas in our new place!!! I’ll be back tomorrow to show you the final dishes 🥰🥰 Not gonna lie this day was a struggle, i did all the Christmas shopping and all this prep with Elwood (my 11 month old) strapped to me at the shops and crawling around my feet at home. It felt quite overwhelming at some moments and Jacob was at his (very well deserved) Christmas break up so I was on my own. Elwood is on the move big time and he crawls from one room to the next getting into everything. Or often when I’m in the kitchen he just hangs off my legs haha. Gosh I love him so much but far out it’s so hard to get things done with him. Anyway I’m not complaining more just proud of myself for getting so much done with him! (Things really sped up once he went to bed hahaha) For the weeks leading up to Christmas I was also stressing like crazy about the island not being finished and not having proper appliances to cook for so many people, but between the air fryer, bench top oven, portable induction stove and bbq I made it work! I’ve also bought the cheapest oven I could find to temporarily shove in the island (it looks shocking and doesn’t fit). The amazing thing is family and friends don’t actually care what the place looks like. We’re all there to celebrate and eat good food! The island will be finished in jan though and I can’t waittttt. The joys of Reno’s. Building this house whilst navigating my first year as mum and trying to work too with not a lot of help (we probably get a family member to help out/watch Elwood maybe 1 - 2 days a month atm) has been difficult at times. Actually it’s been insane lol. These are obviously all privileges and super exciting things!! But all at once has been too much and very testing. At the same time I love our lives though, would never change a thing. I want to spend all my time with Elwood, I want to work and pursue this amazing career and we are finally home owners. So proud of Jacob for pushing his body to the absolute limit to build us this house too. Anywayyyy it’s 12am and I only just had the time to throw this reel together. TTYL XX
