There’s a bit of a language barrier. She was coming over to let you know that she likes you because she appreciates how you’ve adopted children from different backgrounds, regardless of skin color. That’s simply how some Nigerians express themselves. She was just being friendly

My Nigerian coworker calls my fiance her husband. She says to me “how is my husband?”. She also asks about my daughter and says “how is my daughter?” It’s a term of endearment. And I think this lady is just admiring you, for whatever reason. She seems to mean well.
