the most adorable, goofy, and oddly polite dog i’ve ever met. ur flip-flop eyes made you look like some kind of magical creature, but you were just a big, fluffy goofball who cared more about food and belly rubs than anything else. u loved people, never barked at strangers and honestly i wouldn’t be surprised if you had welcomed a thief with a wagging tail and a guided tour of the house. the only crime you ever committed was occasionally filling the room with your distinctive gas emissions. and even then, we forgave you. mostly. u were never just a pet. u were family. i feel so lucky to have been part of your home, to have shared time with you, to have watched you do that little happy dance whenever you saw us. u were the definition of a good boy!!! even in ur final moments, u were thoughtful. the thing i’ll always be most grateful for, the thing that will stay with me forever, is how you waited for me. u held on just long enough for me to come home from semarang, as if you knew i needed to see you one last time. u could’ve left earlier, but you didn’t. u stayed and when i finally saw you, when i finally got to say goodbye, you let go. B, i wish i had done more.. given you more treats, taken you on more walks, spent more time just sitting with you. i hope you knew how much you were loved. i hope you felt it, every single day. i don’t know where you are now, but i like to believe there’s a beautiful, open field waiting for you. a place where you can run without getting tired, where the sun is warm but never too hot and where you never have to take another bath if you don’t want to. and i hope, when the time comes, i’ll see you there!! until then, sleep well, my good boy. i miss you. i always will.
