Mansions, paths of gold, and a river of honey (considering honey is precious, especially back then)— If he's such a complex god who KNOWS what is best for us, what keeps us genuinely happy and joyful, I don't really expect anything human-sounding. I respect them just like I respect anyone trying to get through life with a coping mechanism and trying to find their purpose, but when that coping mechanism starts harming ppl around them, that's when I can no longer get behind it

By the age of 10 or something when I learnt what religion was I just assumed everyone deep down knew there was no real god it sounded crazy to me
