happened to us last year. my gran got my husband and dad the visa gift cards and my dad's was tampered with. luckily, my husband's wasn't and we used it quickly.

They do it at Target as well ..: AP has caught people walking in with big coats pulling out cards from their jackets and placing them with the others .. the registers activate them because they haven’t been activated until purchase and the main one they go for are apple, google, visa prepaid cards .. it’s best to buy apple or google stay
