This happened to me at Dick’s Sporting Goods. I bought my daughter a pair of sweatpants and I needed to exchange them for a smaller size and when I went to exchange them, I had a balance due because I must’ve bought them on sale and they were no longer on sale. So I don’t shop there anymore.

As a manager at a shoe store, They should have honored the price you paid. No matter if it was outside the window or not. You have a receipt, that’s what you paid, that’s what you get back towards the exchange.

As a retail manager, since your out of the return window, you get whatever the shoes are at the current price. Even with receipt, and their return policy is probably 30 days, your out of the return window. If you look, a lot of stores have a short return window for Christmas now also.
