All the boomers in my family had hysterectomies in their 30’s. It was a popular surgery in the 80’s. So when I mention peri issues my mom always says, “get a hysterectomy”. So like with my entire life, she is zero help.

My mom talked to me about it in real time. She still talks to me now that I’m 46 every time I have a period. She legit had little symptoms and I have none.

my mom passed before I hit menopause. she also had a full hysterectomy right after she had my brother becauseof endo. I had to go through it all by myself. I literally thought I was crazy until I got to 41 and was post menopause.

I was just having this conversation with my daughter today. I'm in peri. Started around 39. I'm 43 now. When I was growing up it was always called going through the change and that was the end of it. There was no explanation. I had zero idea of what I was headed for. I'm making sure my kids know exactly what is happening.

Omg! I thought it was cultural since we are hispanic, but I see now that it is a woman thing. My mom thought menopause was only not having your period anymore.

I remember my mom's itching like crazy for years. My ears just started the itching perimenopause thing and I told my mom that was perimenopause. she tells me no it wasn't, she just had bad ears 🤦♀️
