L5-S1 spinal fusion, laminectomy and discectomy June 2024 was sent home the same day as surgery without any pain medication. Spinal Cord Stimulator implanted May 2025 now spinal injections 6 days ago.

That nerve pain is no joke! I’ve had burning thigh, calf and feet pain for 4 years now! Going to see a Doc in NY! Worst part is the surgeon lied to me that performed the fusion! 😡

Had L5- S1 fushion 20 years ago and the pain has always been worse post op. Its crippling and the worst mistake of my life.

@Shyla Marie: See if ur L5 wings r touching your si joints! Dealing with this now. They have to go in and shave the wings off my L5. Since I have the L3-L5 fusion. If I was older they would have to go in and fuse my L5 to my pelvic bone.

52 & had S1 - L5 front & rear hardware. Took a year for nerves to settle. Back at Gym , you will be fine. Only thing touched post pain was prednisone

Surgeon never offered microdiskectomy? Fusion is always last resort for a herniated disk

I’m supposed to get a laminectomy but I’m so scare to. I’ve been on daily pain since August.

I am 6 months post op and still have horrific pain. There is no medications for nerve pain and surgery is barbaric. It's not a win surgery. I refuse any more surgery.

I had L5-S1 fusion 2017 helped with pain but lost feeling in my left leg and partially lost feeling in right foot. Good luck.

Goodness! I had a lumbar fusion L5 and S1 in Oct of 2024 and still dealing with th same nerve pain and everything. I go for another MRI and CT scan tomorrow so hopefully after that we can figure out what’s going on but I refuse to get a spinal cord stimulator bc I’ve done lots of research.

Omgggg… I’m 6 months post op, my nerve pain is worse. Gabapentin does not help. Getting off that. 😭

Best thing i got no one ever told me or never seen anyone mention it was heat belt off amazon 30quid 2hr timer for 1 to 2hours went from 30 to 55 degrees loosened all the muscles and had it on constant and helpd blood flow get in to the aria helping healing 🙏🙏🙏

time. im 3 months out of 5th same surgery over 5 years this one seems better but new dr did it. still healing pain but not hardware pain

I've had 2 back surgeries last one a 2 level lumbar spinal fusion L234 because of degenerative disc disease from l1 to s1 and acquired scoliosis 3 years ago going for mri on 1/15/26 to see why I'm still having sever flare ups
