@caitlinandleahh: I feel really vulnerable sharing this but I hope it will help other people out there going through something similar. I’m currently going through an official autism assessment after being told 8 years ago by a psychiatrist that I am autistic. I want to understand myself better and if you’re on a similar journey, just know you are not alone ❤️
You’re not supposed to do an ADOS assessment on a phone, as assessors were supposed to have good visuals of your whole torso so we can look at gesture- this assessor shouldn’t have completed the ados like this. Please do give them feedback they should change this practice 🙏🏼

getting the assessment will make it much easier for your kids to get diagnosed if they need to be.

I really think anyone of any age should get an assessment if they suspect anything. I’m 18, was diagnosed when I was 15. My mum is in her 50s, and she was only diagnosed last year with autism and it’s really helped her understand why she is the way she is. Just having that clarity is so helpful

Avoid getting a diagnosis if you ever want to emigrate, that’s why I personally chose to stop mine. It affects your approval sadly 😔

the doctor that diagnosed my daughter said, "if you were assessed, I'd bet money that you would be diagnosed". it was validating, but also frustrating because I cant afford assessment and it could be beneficial when going back to uni. 😅
