@philippinestar: Vice Ganda expressed pride in the LGBTQIA+ community after winning his first-ever Best Actor award at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) on Saturday for his role in “Call Me Mother.” “Queer people can be best actors. A queer person in gown can be a best actor. It’s 2025. It’s about damn time,” he remarked in his acceptance speech at the #MMFF51GabiNgParangal. In “Call Me Mother,” Vice Ganda portrays Twinkle, a devoted and loving queer mother who proves that motherhood goes beyond biological ties. The comedian bested Will Ashley (Love You So Bad), Carlo Aquino (Bar Boys: After School), Earl Amaba (I’m Perfect), Piolo Pascual (Manila’s Finest), and Zanjoe Marudo (Unmarry) in the category. #philippinestar #EntertainmentNewsPH #mmff #viceganda
