My daughter had a very rare autoimmune disorder that caused her severe pain. and her pain management doctor was absolutely amazing to her. I will never forget his compassion that he showed for her well being 🥰

Sadly, I run from doctors at this point. They have done more harm than good at this point for me. Physically and emotionally.

I think the one that hurt the most is “you are too young to be in any REAL pain.” I have gastropareisis, pots and hEDS

The other day my neurologist said “everyone has pain and fatigue, you’re going to have to deal with some symptoms” like bro I’m not telling you many symptoms that aren’t as much of a stressor because of this

Finding Hope and Healing. CRPS: My Journey **Introduction** Living with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is an overwhelming and often isolating experience. I want to share my story to offer hope, encouragement, and guidance to those navigating this difficult path. My journey has been filled with challenges, but through faith, perseverance, and the right medical support, I’ve found ways to manage and heal. --- *1: Recognizing the Difference – Understanding My Pain* I explained many times to my doctors that my pain was not like my broken arm. It was significantly more intense—so much so that I felt I couldn’t go on living. The pain was almost unbearable, and I sometimes felt hopeless. But I didn't give up. --- * 2: The Turning Point – Finding the Right Diagnosis* Thankfully, I found a specialist at PRIZM PAIN MANAGEMENT who quickly identified CRPS. They provided me with options and guided me toward treatments that could help. Recognizing the correct diagnosis was a vital step in my recovery. --- * 3: What Didn’t Work — My Past Efforts* Before discovering effective treatments, I tried many approaches that didn’t bring relief: - Physical therapy - Massage therapy - Over-the-counter pain medications - Acupuncture While these methods are helpful for many, they didn’t work for my CRPS. --- * 4: What Made a Difference — My Path to Relief* The most profound help came through a combination of faith, medical treatment, and self-care: *Faith and Prayer:* Our Creator, God, and Jesus Christ have been my greatest sources of comfort and healing. Praying and trusting in divine guidance helped me find hope and strength when I needed it most. - *Medical Support:* With the help of the PRIZM PAIN specialist, I started ketamine therapy, which significantly eased my pain. - *Self-Care Strategies:* - Warm water baths with magnesium to soothe muscles - Muscle relaxers - Medications like Lyrica - Gentle stretching exercises—focusing on complete relaxation after each stretch, breathing out to release tension - Listening to Christian music and healing frequencies to promote peace and calm --- *5: The Power of Faith and Hope* Throughout my journey, my s

As an interventional pain management RN who is also chronically ill, THANK YOU!!! My pts always come in with such awful stories from other pain management clinics. I’m so glad that I work at one of the good ones!

I was “complaining” but was told “stress” from caring for my handicapped sibling. It was a brain tumor. You can be stressed and be ill or in true pain at the same time.

My first (and last for now) pain management dr saw my clEDS, 5 herniated discs, and multiple daily subluxations and LITERALLY said “I’m just not worried about that, you don’t need to be here” then my (now former) specialist recommended I take a daily multivitamin for my daily headaches

thank you. you're like my new primary who immediately connected my depression diagnosis to a failed surgery that left me in pain rather than telling me i shouldn't be in pain so my pain perception system must be broken. no i just have pain.

the worst is when they don't believe you because your so accustomed to masking, they just look at you like "seriously you aren't screaming and shaking", if my brain didn't adapt, I would've had a heart attack years ago

Chenlo at this point I’m just out of words. Your empathy is something I didn’t know still existed in the medical field. It’s a comfort to listen to your thoughts. Thank you.

Pain relief?? Doctors I've encountered really don't care that I'm struggling with chronic pain. I was told I would only get pain medication if I have surgery. I don't go to the Dr anymore. I'm tired of being insulted

Going on 9 years of chronic pain. Only area I ever got an MRI on was my cervical spine, at age 20, showed bone spurs / cervical spondylosis. I experience the same pain in other areas of my body, but bloodwork is normal, so no MRI for any other painful areas yet :(
