The trick to boiling perfect, easy to peel, eggs is to add the eggs AFTER the water is boiling. It doesn't matter if you add salt, vinegar, or gasoline. We tried it all. Boil for 12 minutes then dip in cold water.

I love these, but if you make them, try to depressurize outside if possible. That steam is a hot egg fart that lingers if let off inside.

Osmosis causes the water to move towards the salt not the salt to move into the egg.

maybe try putting the eggs in a salt bath overnight, as far as i know salt just makes peeling the shells easier but it would be an interesting experiment

You should try poking a little hole in the bottom of the egg before you cook them and see if the salt can enhance the flavour

I personally am not a fan of hard boiled. I broil the water, add the eggs and cook for 7m 30s. Dump water, peel and put away when done. Yolk is jammy and perfect for ramen or making soy eggs. I think its interesting that the eggs didn’t taste different with the added salt

It’s easy to peel bc of the salt. Everytime I boil eggs I throw a bunch of salt in. Peels so much easier
