@dan_nanni: In networking and web architecture, proxies are used to control and mediate traffic between clients and servers, but forward and reverse proxies serve opposite roles 😎👆 A forward proxy sits between internal clients and the external internet, receiving client requests and fetching resources on their behalf. It can filter outbound traffic, enforce access policies, cache responses, and hide client identities for privacy or security. A reverse proxy, in contrast, sits in front of backend servers and is the public entry point for external users. It receives incoming requests from the internet and routes them to the correct internal server, enabling features like load balancing, TLS termination, caching, and hiding the internal server infrastructure from direct exposure.
