It is an expression, we use it as a “I’ve been enough places that I don’t give a shiiii anymore and I no longer care kind” kind of term… like for example I live in Texas and yeah, I’ve been everywhere. I’ve also sat in the car for five hours and still be in Texas and I don’t want to be anywhere anymore. I just wanna go home. 😂

When some Americans ( I’m American & get annoyed with that too ) do this I think it’s because they don’t see a real difference in certain places & will start to feel like one area looks like a lot of different places. I think it’s a very narrow minded way to view places/cultures when one travels.
