The reason why it looks similar is because it uses same display technology. Apple is still using Samsung designed screens for its projected release of foldables as Samsung owns 95% of all patents for foldable display tech. All companies use or license, or even outright buy Samsung display tech in their foldables just to compete, and that includes even Huawei and Xiaomi. Samsung releases patents 5 years before releasing a consumer product. For example, the first tri-folding screen was demonstrated and had a patent filed by Samsung as early as 2021, with rollable and single folding screens with patents as early as 2015-2016. Selling consumer products are just a side hustle for Samsung, its their patents, components, and crucial technologies that the entire market depends that makes the big bucks
