@hipsterphoto: Steal these Adobe Lightroom settings to turn a night city photo into something cinematic.👇 This photo was taken on the Brooklyn Bridge, looking back toward the city. Instead of shooting clean, I framed it through the chain-link fence - a frame-within-a-frame to add grit, depth, and a bit of tension. The fence creates separation, the street pulls you in, and the skyline becomes the payoff. Here’s exactly how I edited this image in Adobe Lightroom, step by step: 1️⃣ Tone Curve – Built a subtle S-curve to shape contrast. Raised midtones and blacks, dropped shadows and whites. 2️⃣ Luminance Mask – Selected the highlights and reduced clarity to introduce a soft glow around the city lights 3️⃣ Brush Tool (Street) – Brushed along the road to emphasize the leading line and guide the eye toward the skyline 4️⃣ Radial Mask (Skyline) – Placed a radial mask across the buildings and lifted the shadows to bring detail back into the city 5️⃣ Linear Mask (Bottom of Frame) – Darkened the bottom edge to keep attention centered and prevent the eye from drifting 6️⃣ Sky Mask – Dropped the temperature slightly to cool the sky and separate it from the warmer city lights The rest of my Lightroom settings are shown on screen so you can follow along and try this exact workflow on your own photos.
