I followed the process applied for an extension and waited 108 days. couldn’t wait any longer wanted to go home asked VFS, they said I could travel with my receipt. At the airport, immigration said that’s not valid and gave me a 5-year ban. So which one is it? Imagine waiting over 3 months for a visa outcome, The same system that delayed my outcome is the one that punished me for waiting on it mind you with my child who was born in South Africa with a South African father. Make it make sense. I didn’t overstay by choice..I was literally stuck waiting on their process..Like…!??!!! The system delayed me, then punished me for it. Make it make sense. It gets worse LOL- A few weeks before, I’d received an email to collect an outcome but only for my toddler, even though we applied together. When I got there, they opened the sealed envelope: which had my child’s name on it, but the contents inside were for a completely different person. They gave me back my receipt and said it had to be sent back for blah blah meaning more waiting, no timeline, no clarity. That alone shows how flawed the process is. But I’m the one penalized?
