@unknown_woodworking: This one might get some safety police comments but I felt very safe doing it. Definitely work at your comfort level. Feel free to share in your comments how you would make this cut. If you have a reel showing your method share it with me and I will share it in my stories. Thanks for watching! With the curves cut for the ends at the bandsaw I want a super straight line down the center of my base. There are multiple ways to do this. I feel like the table saw is my most comfortable method. Using my piece as the template mark on my fence where the blade begins to protrude from the table. I do not want to over cut this cut. I also mark my start and stop on my board. Once ready for the cut I take it very slow putting pressure on the back of the board to avoid kickback. I also maintain pressure on the board against the fence. I slowly lower the board onto the blade taking my time. Kickback is the number one issue on a cut like this in my opinion. I maintain firm pressure and make sure to cut straight down. While making this cut I always maintain control of my workpiece and never allow it to go backwards. If I started my cut too far back that’s a future problem not something you can solve right now. Once against the table I slowly move my piece through the blade until the mark on the board lines up with the fence. Once there maintaining firm pressure I shut off the saw and allow it to spin down. For this cut I do not use a riving knife. This is definitely not a how to, this is just a how I do it. Once done I have a super straight line. I only do this on one side and then will use this piece as a template. The next step involves a handsaw. Again thanks for watching #tablesaw #tablesawcuts #furniturebuilding #woodworking #blanketchest
