My thoughts… I’m not going to watch it because it will not change one single position currently held in our administration nor will it change any future positions in any administration. So I’m not going to misery watch a documentary about children who were victims of gun violence. Nothing is going to change until we have comprehensive gun laws and regulations. So why watch a documentary to make myself feel even more helpless about something I can’t do a damn thing about.

Make no mistake, this is 100 percent a gun culture issue. When we link masculinity, authority, community, safety, insecurity, and control to killing weapons, it becomes who we are. it's like being part of a dysfunctional family and not realizing you are in one.

Its not the g*ns. Its mental health and the meds the sh00ters are taking. Kids in my HS brought shotg*ns/r1fles to school and at lunch they and teachers would go out to trucks and compare them/look at them. No sh00tings.

I watched it and yes, it’s very sad. But I couldn’t help but think, keeping their rooms exactly the way they left them can’t be good for the parents or siblings. Losing someone is extremely difficult, yes, but you also have to get on with your own life, especially when you have other children.

The government, gun laws, will never “change” or “fix” these horrific events! It starts in the homes, classrooms, and in our communities! We have to change the narrative completely. Speaking specifically about about children on children crime is severely complex, but if we are forced to label it “mental health” than so be it. We are so obsessed with labels and demons to blame and target. What are the ideas of how to engage each other to find solutions rather than blame. My heart literally breaks for all the families left behind, the acussed, the dead, and the collateral consequences of those directly impacted. How do you start to create the self worth, value of life, and value of others in a world filled with mindless blaming and media narratives that create almost excuses for these type of events. I know, the complexity is staggering! These images, the rooms, the string tied to a skeleton toy under the cabinet, these are heart wrenching reminders of the lost innocence and pain of surviving relatives and friends. I hope we can all stop making excuses and find ways to change the value of life.
