It feels so good to have a pack again💗🐾 On today’s pack walk, for the first time, Birdie truly walked in her new wheelchair instead of sprinting everywhere at full speed😂 She finally seemed to figure out how to slow down, steer, and really maneuver her wheels! The summer heat is no joke down🌞 By midday, the sand gets way too hot for little paws, so our beach adventures are pretty limited😅 Nick and I definitely earned ourselves some good sunburns already😂 We’ll be taking it easy over the next few days until Birdie’s next appointment with our go to surgeon to game plan the best next step for her and this is the perfect place for the girls to start their healing journey with us! Since arriving at the beach, we’ve shown Birdie scootin around and so many people were concerned about why she’s not in her chair every time she’s outside… the wheelchair is a tool, it isn’t something she needs or wants to use every moment she’s outside. She can’t relax or lie down comfortably in it, so we use it when it gives her more freedom, helps her go farther, or makes an adventure more enjoyable! Other times, she’s perfectly happy scooting around on her own💛 You’ll definitely continue seeing a mix of both as she lets us know what she’s feeling up for each day!
