@jeromecooksfood: 🧀Cream Cheese from Scratch (Full recipe below) Who knew making cream cheese was this easy. It takes about 10 minutes total, is so much cheaper than anything you’ll buy in the shop, and you can control what ingredients you put in it. Even better you can then adapt it to your tastes. Garlic and herbs is a classic one, but really anything will work. Then just use it like you would a packet, this is delicious in a cream cheese icing, or add it into a pasta sauce for extra creaminess, or just spread on a blini and serve with some smoked salmon and dill Make sure you use whole milk for the best results, and this won’t work with UHT milk. 🧀Cream Cheese (makes 200g) 🥛Ingredients 4 cups (1 litre) whole milk 3 tbsp lemon juice 🥄Method 1️⃣Heat the milk until almost boiling 2️⃣Add the lemon juice, stir well and take off the heat 3️⃣After a few minutes, the milk will have curdled, strain through a sieve lined with a cheesecloth, then rinse the curds with cold water 4️⃣Squeeze out any excess liquid 5️⃣Place in a blender along with any additional ingredients 6️⃣Blend until smooth 7️⃣Enjoy! #food #cooking #Recipe #creamcheese #philadelphia

"It's cheaper to make it yourself". Then expects you to buy a piano.

Not sure what cream cheese costs where you live, but these ingredients would cost me more than the resulting cream cheese in my local grocery store.

I’m so tired of people trying to pass off farmers cheese as every kind of cheese- except farmers cheese. This isn’t cream cheese

Fun fact, just letting it drain, and not squeezing nor put it in a blender and it's ricotta cheese! Or, salt then squeeze it a bunch and you got Paneer! Also, save the whey for rice or pasta.

Tried this today….it’s delicious and easy, my daughter loves off Philly, and I put this into the container she immediately knew it was not Philly but said it’s creamier and a lot nicer. We have a winner.

This can also be made lactose free with lactose free whole milk. Where I live, there is no lactose free flavoured cream cheese

This is how I make cottage cheese (minus the blending it)
For cream cheese I mix a scant 1 teaspoon of salt into 1kg of plain Greek yogurt and strain for 2-3 days in the fridge
