Happened me twice, first time I was 18 and almost died when my home was in fire. Second time I was almost 40, but both times my experience was.. nothing. Only pitch black, so quiet I mean not single sound at all. No bright light, no tunnel or someone calling me, no nothing but quiet, dark and same time peacefull. That's all I remember.

When I was very ill, in great pain, alone and scared I was asleep and felt myself start flying through darkness. I saw stars? In the distance and then I felt a feeling I’ve never felt. It was unconditional love and acceptance. I didn’t stay long and woke up in my bed. I believe that it was God or whatever spirit power there is giving me love and assurance to keep persevering and not to fear death.

first of all he actually didn't die, of you died truly you can't wake up. he still had oxygen and such in his blood
