@crmnallyobsessed: Eric Tamiyasu was killed in his Hood River, Oregon home in June 2001, yet nearly 25 years later the case remains unresolved, leaving his family still searching for answers. Although his death was quickly ruled a homicide, the investigation has long been criticized for unusual decisions that may have hindered progress. Most notably, authorities ordered the mattress where Eric was found to be destroyed within a day of the discovery, a move the former sheriff said was meant to spare the family further distress. Friends and relatives say Eric had been living alone in a newly built home, often left his doors unlocked, and was casually dating at the time, though little is known about those relationships. The case is now considered cold and is not actively investigated, though it is undergoing review by a major crimes team that did not exist at the time of the killing. #coldcase #truecrime

carmen barrington :
Why do these people in these positions, fumble cases so terribly? This is another reason there needs to be more training. You should never dispose of evidence like this.
