yeah, my goal is exactly that! Spend money more consciously, and still buy things/treat yourself. but intentionally. And if it's a maybe it's a no. (although this is the hardest especially if you already bought the thing and have to decide if to return🙄). i would say i already have a fairly good relationship, but it could be improved. made a few Impulse purchases but returned uneanted things so only actually a handful of things i actually regret buying.

I get your point but I just need to stop spending money, full stop. I’m 45 and have been in debt almost all my adult life, I haven’t got time to “learn” how to save and invest, I just need to stop.

It's the same reason diets don't work for most people. Cutting out carbs or sugar or take-away 100% works short-term - but it doesn't satisfy you, it doesn't make you happy or any more skilled at preparing proper food that fits your lifestyle. Instead, you'll either get scared of food altogether or become miserable & jealous.

Yes! The no spend months drive me mad. That must be a miserable existence. That’s why I love the 50/30/20 rule. I spent 30% of my income on whatever I want guilt free. Having structures is so important and actually allows for a lot of freedom and enjoyment

Great to find you on my feed. Made the first step today by moving any money over my weekly food and fuel budget into a separate account so I can keep control of that better

I see what you mean, however many people spend an enormous amount of time habitually looking at/deliberating over/fixating on what to buy, which makes overspending hugely more likely. Stopping that habit can make a huge difference.

Hi Sarah, I completely agree with you on this. For some people it may work going cold turkey, but not for everyone. It is extremely subjective. However, I just wanted to say thay I really appreciate the effort you put in your videos. I find them very informative and motivating, keep going! 🫂
