Being remote does not mean you can work wherever and whenever you want. I’ve did remote work for years. I’m required to be in my home office from 8-4 Monday-Friday. Working anywhere else without prior approval will result in termination.

All these ppl saying taxes. No no no…. You are paid based on where you live. You are allowed to travel and visit and work in another state. They don’t pay you to be in 1 place they pay you based on where you live. Visiting isn’t living. Whoever the boss is has no clue what she’s talking about

Remote work usually includes a remote work agreement that includes an approved telework location. You normally are required to get permission to work out of state for a period of time.

yeah l, your work location can determine yhe state taxes. id you went from Arizona to Utah, they need to withhold taxes for Utah that week and you have to file in both states. Some jobs dont care so long as they know, but others are not doing that extra work for you.

as long as you aren't in a different state than usual up to 6 months then taxes have nothing to do with it. this is in reference to the tax jurisdictions and they may not be set up to handle multi jurisdiction tax updates

Taxes have nothing to do with it. Taxes are based on the state you live in. If that were actually a thing, people would never travel for work because taxes would be a nightmare.

Taxes have nothing to do with it. But some remote jobs do have rules about whether or not you can travel outside of your residence during work hours. But that would be clearly stated in your offer letter. I think this is a skit though.
