Thank you for sharing this. I have been stuck in my negative-angry mood and thoughts all day. Just tired of being forced to participate in the American Hunger Games system, where you can never experience peace, or even joy, love, or authenticity for that matter. When I was living in Nepal I went for a hike with a friend and a storm came in, we were by a temple and asked if we could shelter there. The monks fed us, gave us a room, brought us tea, let us pray and chant with them. We were there for most of a day. It was restful, quiet and so special. Ill never forget it

I’m a practicing Muslim and I would stay in that temple and experience as they do. What a learning experience. I’m curious as to what their meals are, what the smell of the place is, the lovely garden you described, etc..

I retired after 57 years of working this past September. The Universe called me to go immediately to Japan. I stayed three months and it’s the most incredible thing I’ve ever done. I could name so many reasons why…there are MANY! But what I am left with most, what I think of and value MOST, are the people. The kindness, respectfulness, the efficient way they glide through their days, the honor, integrity and civility. I wept everyday from being touched by them. 🙏
