@kellymountaintown: As a ski patroller myself, I’m standing with Telluride ski patrol union as they #strike for a more sustainable starting wage. Resort officially shut down as their billionaire owner is Scrooge McDuck and sadly that power causes hardship for their entire town ##unionstrong##Telluride##skipatrol##skitok
A full day of labor wouldn't buy a lift ticket. That's nuts!

28$ before taxes is still not a livable wage in Colorado in 2025

Telluride’s average daily, on-season profit is over $1,000,000 a day. The raise would cost less than $500,000 per year.

They should make at least 35-40$ an hour. They are first responders.

For a town that an average home is $2,000,000 I think they can afford some extra dollars for their workers.

If you can’t afford to pay your employees a livable wage then you can’t afford to be in business imo

They get paid to ski all day. Its not like they work at a warehouse. Most patrollers Midwest are volunteer

Not to mention the insanely expensive medical training that patrollers have to pay for themselves! $28 is setting the bar low

yeah ski patrol is not an entry level job. they deserve a living wage especially considering how expensive of a place to live telluride is.

Anyone that works to help save people either ski patrol, healthcare, law enforcement, or emergency services, they should all be paid a living wage. I don’t understand why we keep these billionaires rich 🙃

That's a kids job or someone training for X or Olympics.
We used to come over for the winter from the front range to do Snow Removal and Patrol .
At least when I was a kid that's how it was , stay 6-8 in a cabin and party and ski all winter.
A seasonal job is not a career job .

They're going to say "this is the unions fault you can't ski, unions are bad" instead of accepting fault and accountability for not paying their workers enough to keep the mountain open.
