I actually disagree. When you’ve been single for a long time, especially later in life, you’re usually very independent and fully functional on your own. You know how to manage your life, your emotions, and your daily rhythm. So entering a relationship doesn’t feel like pressure. It comes with standards. The person you let into your life has to add something real. Not because you need them to make you happy, since you’re already capable of that, but because they bring their own happiness, their emotional maturity, and their peace. At a certain age, peace matters. You can seek peace and still want depth, connection, and intensity. A relationship should be an improvement, not a compensation.
