i think neither are “better” because each has their own different qualities. in eoe, shinji rejects instrumentality so he has the option to bring back everyone from lcl. however, in the rebuilds ending, shinji has ALREADY created a new world, one without eva’s. so both of them are “good”, but one isn’t better than the other, they’re just different imo
